Hoarding Disorder
A recognized mental health condition in the DSM-5 characterized by persistent difficulty discarding possessions.
Level 1 Hoarding
The mildest form of hoarding with light clutter and all areas of the home still accessible.
Level 2 Hoarding
Moderate hoarding with at least one room unusable and blocked exits or pathways.
Level 3 Hoarding
Significant hoarding with multiple unusable rooms, visible outdoor clutter, and pest evidence.
Level 4 Hoarding
Severe hoarding with structural damage, sewage issues, mold growth, and biohazard conditions.
Level 5 Hoarding
The most extreme level where the home is uninhabitable with no running water or electricity.
